Wet to Dry Flat Iron Reviews

When it comes to replacing or buying a new flat iron many are choosing to buy a wet to dry model. They're popular because they avoid the need to first blow-dry your hair and produce straighter, shinier hair for those with particularly curly of difficult to manage hair. What follows are reviews of some of the best wet to dry flat irons on the market. Heat applied to hair damages it. When straightening hair you're damaging it twice: first when you blow-dry your hair and secondly, by then using a hair straightener, Shampoos, conditioners and serums can help, but by using a hair straightener often you can cause your hair follicles to dry out, your hair to snap as well as split-ends.
Today's wet to dry flat irons have been designed so that high heat is applied only once to your hair so as to minimise heat damage.
Corioliss Tourmaline Ceramic Wet to Dry Flat Iron comes highly recommended. This appliance from Corioliss comes with 1.75" tourmaline plates and Ceramic Far Infrared Heating System. The plates heat up to 430 F and you can set the temperature settings you want. The main selling point of the Corioliss is its weight; it weighs only 0.85 lbs.
The Maxiglide MX-597 One Step Hair Straightening Iron is cheaper than the Corioliss but you do get a lot for your money. The Maxiglide comes with steam burst technology. Essentially, you can release little bursts of steam for those parts your hair that are a little more stubborn. The steam comes from 2 water reservoirs contained in the handles. Also, the Maxiglide comes with two sets of ceramic plates; smooth ceramic plates, which you would find on most other flat irons, and plates containing teeth like a comb, to help detangle hair and brush it as the same time. Because of the water reservoirs this flat iron is a little heaver (2 lbs) and bulky and some may find it difficult to use. Also, the plates are 4 inches wide making it a little unwieldy. The detangling pins of the ceramic plates have also come in for criticism with many claiming that far from helping to straighten hair, the pins make the task harder to accomplish. But despite these shortcomings, the Maxiglide MX-597 is an excellent hair straightener.
The CHI Wet to Dry flat iron is the most expensive of these three - by quite some way, which is a downside. However its design is very nice; sleek and expensive looking. There is an auto digital feature on the outside of the upper arm that allows you to set the temperature and the time. The digital monitor also allows you to see the temperature setting. You can also set a timer for automatic shut off when you are finished with styling. The tourmaline plates have a width of 1" - the narrowest of the three. It's also the heaviest appliance out of the three, weighing 2.05 lbs. Many flat iron reviews give the CHI an excellent rating.
